    First Responders

First responders may face particular difficulties when considering getting help.  For one thing, first responders generally operate in a culture that seeks to uphold an image of invincibility. This is a way to help them cope with the danger and difficulties of their job. Admitting that they are less than invincible may undermine the confidence they need to do their job effectively and safely.  This difficulty is compounded if superiors take an attitude that the first responder should “man up” and not complain or show “weakness” with regard to the difficulties of the job.

    Girls & Teens

These days, with the pace of our modern lives, girls face a lot of different pressures, and they may find themselves struggling in various areas of their lives. I understand! I provide a safe space where girls aged 7-18 can be their authentic selves, where they can be heard and understood. For younger girls, those as young as 4, who are experiencing challenges, I work closely with parents or caregivers to bring about changes that can allow them to move past their difficulties and thrive.

    Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is so helpful for so many people because it’s the best way to get truly customized therapy. Group therapy may have its own set of numerous advantages but if you want more control over the pacing of your therapy, the methods used, the amount of analysis or feedback you can receive, and the timing of your sessions, you owe it to yourself to look into individual therapy.

If you’re looking for help in improving your everyday life – or for a more tailored therapy experience – you would be a great fit for our individual therapy services.

    Life Transitions

Has your life been touched by a major event such as a death, divorce, or layoffs at work? Are you having a hard time moving through and past the emotional turmoil? Do you feel completely stuck and like you need guidance getting back on track?

There’s no denying that life often presents us with our fair share of challenges, usually in the form of sudden change. These life transitions, even the positive ones, can throw us into a tailspin and leave us feeling stressed, confused, and vulnerable. But with the right tools and mindset, you have the power to not only overcome any adversity but also transform into a more authentic and confident version of yourself.

    Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, or MBCT, is designed for people who suffer from repeated bouts of depression or chronic unhappiness. It combines the ideas of cognitive therapy with meditative practices and attitudes based on the cultivation of mindfulness.

Recent research has shown that people who have been clinically depressed three or more times in their life find that learning mindfulness-based skills help considerably to reduce their chances of depression returning.

    Telehealth

My practice is completely virtual, which means I offer sessions online only. This way of delivering services is also known as Teletherapy or Telehealth. These sessions take place via a HIPAA compliant secure platform that allows synchronous (real time) video communication between you and me. Teletherapy can be useful to treat many of the same mental health issues as face-to-face treatment. Online therapy sessions can feel very much like in-office therapy sessions. Once the session starts and we begin our work together, the screen fades into the background and I am giving you exactly what you would get from me if we were in a room together.

    Therapy for Depression

I want you to know that you are not alone and there are people who can help. Many of my clients find relief in realizing that their struggle does not own them and that there are many options available to once again have hope for their lives.

I understand the social stigmas that come with the label of being depressed and thus aim to help clients sort out their environmental, biological, and circumstantial factors while offering support and care through a very dark time in their lives.

    Therapy for Self-Esteem

Do you suffer from anxiety or depression? Do you often feel awkward and self-conscious in social settings? Are you constantly comparing yourself to others and finding you never measure up?

Self-esteem is a concept that speaks to how we feel about ourselves. When one has high self-esteem, they feel confident, centered, and worthy of love. People with low self-esteem often feel shame and self-doubt. They often feel critical of themselves and are unworthy of love or praise.

    Women

Many women experience these feelings at some point in their life, and can often benefit from talking with a neutral person who can help them unwind and sort these experiences. Women who are more connected with their authentic selves and their personal truths often experience greater well-being and satisfaction in their lives. Therapy doesn’t have to last a long time! Let me help you get into better alignment with your true self and release what no longer serves you, so you can start to feel better.
